What does one reservation cost you?
Zenchef alternative: reservations, QR menu and TV menu board – free.
Zenchef takes no commission per reservation. Instead, you pay a fixed price every month: the smallest plan, Reserve, costs €129 a month in France and Belgium. With momoscreen, a reservation costs you nothing. The QR menu, the TV menu board and a printable menu come with it.
Based on the price of Zenchef Reserve on the French and Belgian price pages: €129 a month. Zenchef's English price page shows no prices at all. The fewer guests book online, the more each booking costs you. The price never drops to 0.

There are three ways to pay for online reservations: per guest, per month, or not at all. Zenchef charges per month.

A fixed price, however many bookings
That's how Zenchef charges: €0 commission per reservation, but a monthly price. A quiet month costs as much as a packed one.

That's momoscreen. Guests send a request through your QR menu or your booking link, you confirm. It costs nothing, in any month.

What can come on top

- Text messages to guests: a cost per message, depending on plan and country.

The TV menu board
The menu above the counter
On Zenchef's own pages, you won't find a menu board for screens. Guests open Zenchef's digital menu through a QR code: a menu built in Zenchef, a link or a PDF. With momoscreen, your menu also hangs on the TV in your café.

- Something sold out? Mark it on your phone. The board shows it too.

What Zenchef does that momoscreen doesn't
Zenchef is a big booking system. momoscreen doesn't have these things. Next to each one is what you get here instead.
Deposits
Zenchef: Deposits, prepayments and a credit card hold in case a guest doesn't show up.
With momoscreen: No payments. You confirm every request yourself. The guest gets an email with a calendar entry and a link to cancel.
Waitlist
Zenchef: A waitlist from the Manage plan on.
With momoscreen: No waitlist. When you're full, you decline the request.
Reminders
Zenchef: Confirmation and reminder by email or text message.
With momoscreen: No reminder email. The calendar entry from the confirmation lands on the guest's phone.
Google
Zenchef: Reserve with Google in every plan.
With momoscreen: Not a Google partner. You put your booking link in your Google Business Profile.
Payments and POS
Zenchef: Pay at the table by QR code, and connections to POS systems like Lightspeed or SumUp.
With momoscreen: No payments, no POS. Guests read the menu on their phone and pay the way they do now.

Use both
Zenchef and momoscreen in the same restaurant
You don't have to cancel Zenchef. Zenchef's pages show no menu board for a TV. So you can use both: Zenchef for the bookings, momoscreen for the menu in your café, on the table and on paper.
One booking system per table
Take reservations in one system only. Otherwise one guest books a table through Zenchef and another books the same table through momoscreen. If you stay with Zenchef, leave reservations switched off in momoscreen.
The menu in one place
In Zenchef, you can also enter a link as your menu. Put the link to your momoscreen QR menu there. Then you change prices in one place only.
Switch completely later
If one day a simple booking system is all you need, the free table booking system in momoscreen is already there. Guests send a request, you confirm.

What does Zenchef cost?
On the price page for France and Belgium: Reserve €129, Manage €169 and Grow €249 a month. In the Netherlands, Reserve costs €99. Zenchef's English price page shows no prices. Its buttons lead to “Book a demo”.
Is Zenchef really commission-free?
For reservations, yes: Zenchef takes €0 commission per reservation. On top of that come the monthly price, fees on card payments (6, 4 or 2%, depending on the plan), text messages per message and add-ons.
How long does Zenchef tie me in?
Zenchef's pages don't make that clear. Before you sign, ask about the minimum term and the notice period, and get it in writing. momoscreen has no contract.
Does Zenchef have a TV menu board?
We found none on Zenchef's own pages. Guests open Zenchef's digital menu through a QR code: a menu in Zenchef, a link or a PDF. With momoscreen, any TV with a browser shows your menu.
Is Zenchef available in the US?
Zenchef is a French company based in Paris. In its own words, it's rooted across France, Benelux and the DACH region, and its online sign-up lists Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Its site doesn't mention the US, and its English price page shows no prices. Can I use Zenchef and momoscreen together?

How do I move my menu over?
