The cost

How OpenTable pricing works

OpenTable publishes its prices in the US. Its UK page says “Contact us for pricing”. Here's the first year on Core, according to the US price page:

To be fair: In Core and Pro, OpenTable doesn't charge for bookings from your own website, by phone or from walk-ins. And you only pay for diners who are actually seated: no-shows and cancellations cost nothing.

The amounts above are OpenTable's US prices in US dollars. OpenTable's UK page lists no prices: there, you get a price on request.

Honestly

Where OpenTable offers more

OpenTable is built for bigger restaurants and does a few things momoscreen doesn't. For a café or a small restaurant, they rarely matter much. Here's how you handle them with momoscreen:

  • Diners from the network

OpenTable: Your restaurant is listed in OpenTable's app and on its website.

How you do itmomoscreen isn't a portal. New guests find you on Google Maps and request a table right there with your booking link.

  • Floor plan and table management

OpenTable: Customisable floor plans and Smart Assign table management.

How you do itRequests land in a list. When you confirm one, you decide where the guests sit. With a handful of tables, that works just fine.

  • Deposits and credit cards

OpenTable: Deposits and credit card holds.

How you do itNo deposits. You confirm every request yourself, and anyone who can't make it cancels with one click in their email.

  • Waitlist

    OpenTable: In-house and online waitlist.

How you do itNo waitlist. When a guest cancels, you see it at the bell and give the table to the next caller.

Questions

Questions about the OpenTable alternative

Your question isn't here? Email us at info@momoscreen.com – we're happy to help.

Is momoscreen really free?

Yes. No monthly fee, no fee per guest or per booking, no setup fee and no contract. The digital menu is free too.

How much does OpenTable cost?

According to OpenTable's US price page (as of October 2026), Core costs $299 and Pro $499 a month, on a one-year contract that renews automatically. On top of that, you pay $1 for every diner from the OpenTable network. Basic costs $149 a month, is only available in the US, has limited features and charges for bookings from your website too.

What does OpenTable cost in the UK?

OpenTable's UK page lists no prices, just “Contact us for pricing”, so you get a quote. The US prices on this page give you a rough idea. The contract terms on both pages are the same: one year, renewing automatically unless you give notice 30 days before. momoscreen is free in both countries.

What is a network cover at OpenTable?

That's what OpenTable calls a diner who discovers your restaurant on OpenTable's website, in its app or through its partners. In Core and Pro, the fee per cover only applies to them, and only if they're seated. Diners who book through your website or by phone cost nothing extra.

Can I use OpenTable and momoscreen at the same time?

Yes. The two aren't connected: you won't see OpenTable bookings in momoscreen. Still, nothing gets double-booked, because you confirm every momoscreen request yourself. You quickly check whether the table is free, then say yes or no.

How do I add phone bookings?

Tap “Add reservation”, pick the date and time, enter the number of guests and the name. Phone, email and note are optional. With an email, the guest gets a confirmation with a calendar entry.

Do I get bookings via Google too?

Yes, through your booking link in your Google Business Profile. It opens your QR menu with the reservation form ready and costs nothing, however many guests book through it. You need a verified profile; the app walks you through Google step by step.

Can I bring over my OpenTable bookings?

There's no import. New bookings land in your momoscreen list from day one. Add existing ones with “Add reservation” if you need to.

Do guests need an app or an account?

No. Everything runs in the browser on their phone: scan the QR code or open the link, book, confirm the email.

What happens to my guests' data?

momoscreen tidies up by itself: unconfirmed requests are deleted after 7 days, notes 30 days after the visit, and guest data is anonymised 6 months after the visit.
